CLAY
DRAWINGS ON PAPER (75x55cm)
A series of nine drawings on paper, blackened with graphite, which is then erased.
Like full-length portraits in a hieratic stature, in the manner of the first photographs of yesteryear, these anthropomorphic forms impose themselves on the eye. Floating in the emptiness, each of them is traversed by a structural grid that seems to give substance to an omnipresent invisibility, the expression of a discreet but palpable support, suggesting realities hidden behind appearances.
Every scratch, every break becomes a metaphor for human life, marked by scars and challenges. And yet, despite their cracks and sometimes fissures, their fragility exudes exudes a magnetic beauty. Each jar becomes a vessel for a story, a journey, a memory, revealing an austere beauty and a quiet resilience in the face of life's pitfalls.
These drawings ask us questions about dignity in fragility, resilience in adversity, the very essence of what defines us as human beings in our irrefutable uniqueness. They are windows into universal truths, where form and soul come together in a silent, profound dialogue.
